Dear Sacred Community,

 After a long winter of planning we are excited to announce that Camp Raj Yog is lined up to grow extensively in 2009 by beginning to build more permanent infrastructure on the land to support year round activities and programs that will directly serve the community and all those who visit.

Upcoming events include:

• Information Night ~ Saturday April 4th, 2009. An inspirational evening exploring possibilities
• Design Party ~ April 11th, 2009.  A night of creativity and collaboration to design the future.
• Campout ~ May 8-9th, 2009.   A fun-filled weekend of campfires and seva at Camp Raj Yog.

It is our goal for 2009 to begin the first phase of construction of the Sacred Village which involves the building of a highly efficient multi-story building that includes a full commercial kitchen, a dining hall to serve 150-200 people and accommodations for 10-15 people.

Rama Singh, a Camp Raj Yog Council member and project manager has taken initiative in developing the initial scope of the project and has now been appointed to plan the fundraising strategy to secure the funds to make this project happen.
The development plan involves a multi-phase approach by first constructing the kitchen/dining building in late 2009 and then beginning the Sacred Centre/Temple in early 2010. Community involvement is a key component to the success of these initiatives.

What future do you see for Camp Raj Yog?

On April 4th, 2009 at 6:30pm, Rama Singh a sustainable builder and long time community member will present a slideshow at Yoga West sharing some of the possibilities that are being considered for the 10 acre parcel of land purchased by 3HO in 2006 and will be inviting others to express their ideas.

Come get inspired! We want to share with and update you on where the Camp Raj Yog project is at and call upon you to share what you imagine for the future.

Rammed earth buildings, permaculture, passive solar design, a beautiful Sacred Centre for all to enjoy will be some of the exciting topics of discussion for the evening.

Baltej Singh spearheaded a fundraising campaign by visiting local Gurdwaras and calling sangat members around BC encouraging them to support Camp Raj Yog.

One donor, Mr. Gurnek Sull from Quesnel donated a very generous amount of the sum of $10,000. The entire community would like to thank him and his family for stepping in and contributing to this project that is putting us further towards our goal!

• Become a monthly donor!  This is one of the most sustainable ways for you to serve this camp.  We would like to encourage everyone to become a monthly donor, donating even just 10$ a month...imagine, if we have 300 people donating 10$/ month, that is 3,000$ a month to help us cover our basic costs of mortgage etc...  You can become a monthly donor securely online or through mailing in post-dated cheques, click here
  
  
• Single Donations ~  Single donations and donations in kind of any materials are a great way to support the camp and even to recycle (check out our wish list ).  Camp Raj yog is a non-profit society and all donations are tax-deductable.
  
  
• SEVA ~ The foundation of this land has all been built by seva.  There are many ways that you can be involved through the donation of your time, energy, enthusiasm and skills.  When we get into Spring 2009, come on over to the beautiful Sunshine Coast and join together with friends for a work party. • Awareness ~ Help us get the buzz out about the camp.  We are having regular Camp Presentations after Gurdwara programs at Yoga West, as well as making an effort to get out into the greater community and let people know what we are doing and invite participation.  If you would like a Camp representative to come make a presentation near you, please contact Baltej Singh .
